Heck I just shove mine in! :D Ot was a bit hit and miss grwoing ours in the garage, not sure there was the right amounnt of like and the seedlings went a bit leggy, but luckily they came right. ONce the soil warms up here we find that most things do best being direct sowed, especially the soon to harvest crops. Joes in the process ob building a glasshouse, the frame is up. I'm looking forward to starting seeds off on there next spring.
